Jazlyn Salazar joined the lab in spring 2023 and began working on GUMO project, comparing the stomata of herbarium specimens to more recently collected specimens.

In April 2023 Jazlyn was accepted to the Transformative Undergraduate Experiences (TrUE) program at TTU, which helps fund paid research hours and travel funds.

Jazlyn graduated from TTU in May 2025 and began a PhD in Horticulture with Dr. Mason McNair at Michigan State University in Fall 2025.
